  • Presenting a valid visa (for nationals of the countries to which this requirement applies);
  • Proof of conditions of stay and financial means;
  • No prohibition to enter the country.

States that are members of the European Union, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, have somewhat simplified requirements. Their nationals may enter Spanish territory with a valid national identity document.

Persons under the age of majority shall enter the Spanish State with an identity document. If the child arrives on his or her own, he or she must have the permission of his or her legal guardians.

If a family member who is not a citizen of a European Union country or of the other four listed countries wishes to visit Spain, they must present a valid passport. Depending on the nationality, a visa may be required. The latter applies to those who do not have an official document indicating that they have a residence permit as a relative that has one in a European Union member state.
